FATHER'S DAY CAR SHOW
DRAWS CROWD OF OVER 1,000

June 15, 2008 -- Darien Revitalization Initiative’s annual downtown Darien Father’s Day Car Show was held on Sunday, June 15th in Tilley Park with a crowd of over 1,000 in attendance.  75 unique cars were showcased on the great lawn – the most cars to date for this event – and ranged from the exotic, to nostalgic, and vintage cars.  Also on display were the ever-favorite 1928 Ahrens/Fox fire truck, the Darien Fuel Cell Car, and the Darien Sport Shop’s Smart Car.  Attendees also enjoyed food concessions from the Lion’s Club, a model car display, caricature artist and ice cream served from a vintage truck.  The ‘People’s Choice Award’ was presented to Mr. Lennis Koontz of Darien for his  1955 Ford Crown Victoria.
